For the fourth time, EssilorLuxottica has earned a spot on Fortune's prestigious 'Change The World' list, a powerful testament to the Group's relentless dedication to helping people globally 'see more and be more.' 


EssilorLuxottica has earned a spot on Fortune's 2024 “Change the World” list, which recognizes companies that have a positive social impact through activities that are part of their core business strategy. Among 50 companies, the Company is honored for its transformative impact on vision care as part of its Mission to help people “see more and be more”. This includes revolutionizing the delivery of vision care services for rural communities worldwide, while also actively engaging in advocacy at the highest levels to promote the importance of vision care on the global health agenda. 


Good vision is a basic human right, yet uncorrected poor vision is one of the world's most widespread disabilities, affecting 2.7 billion people globally. 90% of these 2.7 billion individuals live in base-of-pyramid communities with little to no access to vision care. This hinders access to education and employment, trapping them in cycles of poverty and limiting their potential. 


To address this, EssilorLuxottica has, over the past two decades, been advocating for vision care as a key lever for global development in under resourced regions. To date, the Group, through the OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation and our partners have provided more than 80 million people with a pair of glasses, created sustainable access to vision care for over 930 million people in developing communities by establishing more than 31,000 inclusive businesses points and training primary vision care entrepreneurs. Through training primary vision care entrepreneurs, the Foundation has provided essential skills and knowledge to them, enabling them to deliver eye care services where access was previously limited.
