Drawing on one of our values: ‘We are one, thanks to many’, EssilorLuxottica recently introduced an Inclusion Committee to best promote diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) at work.
EssilorLuxottica has marked an important step forward by introducing an Inclusion Committee to promote DE&I as well as encourage innovation, creativity and growth within its workplace.
This committee will serve as the cornerstone of DE&I initiatives, providing governance, guidance and awareness essential to creating a work environment where everyone feels valued, respected and has the means to succeed. Comprising members representing different business units and geographical areas, it will ensure a wide range of viewpoints and contributions are both heard and understood.
The Inclusion Committee meets regularly to discuss and support the Group’s DE&I approach, review progress made and set the course for future activities, with its main missions being:
Awareness and Responsibility
Guide governance and accountability for DE&I initiatives, ensuring they reflect our Group’s values and goals.
Consultation
Drive discussions aimed at prioritizing and overseeing DE&I activities, contributing valuable ideas and perspectives thanks to the experience and expertise of Inclusion Committee members.
Advocacy
Advocate and sponsor the DE&I program, driving change within EssilorLuxottica through active participation and support.
Decision Making
Contribute to decision-making processes that shape the DE&I program and its trajectory, fostering a culture of inclusion and belonging at all levels of the organization.
To date, the Inclusion Committee has defined and validated EssilorLuxottica's DE&I strategy, articulated in three main pillars: Awareness and Learning, Processes and Policies, and Objectives and Data. The Committee has also organized an awareness session on Inclusive Leadership that will go live in November, reaching the Company’s top leaders worldwide.
DE&I Week
DE&I Week, from Sept. 30 to Oct. 4, was dedicated to raising awareness on the power of dialogue in building cross-generational and cultural connections to ensure the integration of different perspectives and experiences.
Employees had the opportunity to participate in working groups and events to learn more about the theme of the week as well as the importance of inclusive language.
